Yard fabric is primarily used as a barrier to prevent plants from germinating by preventing the pants access to nutrients in the soil. There are many products on the market that are used as a weed barrier and we have our favorite that we like to use. We have seen years of effectiveness with the particular type of weed fabric that we use and have loved the results so far.
There are various situations where it is advised to install yard fabric. The general rule is that anywhere that plant material is not wanted is the place for yard fabric. Here are some examples.
