Bringing the Yard to Life

“If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness.”– Therese of Lisieux.

Our Planting Promise

The Right Team

We have a passion for things that grow and an impeccable eye for detail and design. We promise to bring your yard to life and add beauty to your outdoor space.

The Right Plants

No yard is complete without the right arrangements of plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers. With so many factors involved in choosing the right plants, it takes knowledge and experience to achieve the absolute best results. We consider available sunlight and water as well as the intended purpose and the desired look and feel that plants will add.

The Right Source

We only buy our plants from the best specialty growers. We hand-pick each plant for each project, ensuring the highest level of quality.

Planted The Right Way

Our teams are well trained, and we offer a 1-year warranty when proper care is taken after planting. Our mission for every plant we install is to provide joy for years to come.

What is the intended purpose of this plant?

When choosing plants, we take a step back to determine what purpose they might serve, in addition to providing beauty.

  • Trees-

    Anchors of the Yard

    Shade Trees

Every yard needs shade. Shade trees need space to grow big and tall,  and should be planted to provide the right parts of the yard with a large canopy of shade.

    Evergreens

Conifers give color, height and privacy all year long. They are the only trees, in the winter months, that will give your yard greenery.

    Ornamental

These decorative trees add interest. They may have unusual shapes, trunks, or colors. Ornamental trees can be found in an amazing variety!

    Fruit

Fruit trees are great for someone passionate about growing their own produce. They need adequate sunlight and space for falling fruit.

    Shrubs

Bushes are small to medium perennials with woody stems. They are great for structure, privacy, interest, & visual appeal.

    Shrub Types

    Their use and purpose

    Create Natural Borders

Hedges are shrubs planted in a row and shaped with a hedge trimmer to be as one plant. Very classical in nature, they are designed to divide an outdoor space and they create visual interest, structure, and lines for the eye to follow.

Several types of hedges can grow in Utah and each has a distinct look and function. Some grow short, some grow tall. And some can be shaped in creative ways.

    Shapes and Colors

Individual shrubs add dimension, contrast, texture shape, and color to flower beds. They come in a wide variety. Shrubs share their color in their leaves and some by the flowers they produce.

    Have it All

In addition to the wonderful texture and color of their leaves, some shrubs also flower at various times during the year. To get the most out of a flowering shrub, forethought of light, nutrients, and water need to be considered. Our designers can simplify the process and build a plan to help your shrubs thrive and give off maximum color.

    Perennial Flowers

Perennial flowers are the flowers that you plant once and they come back every year. It is always fun to watch these flowers emerge out of the ground and often bigger, stronger, and more striking than the year before.

Perennials are chosen for their blooming season, size, and visual presence, and should complement the rest of the landscape. Perennial flowers must be thoughtfully selected and placed to ensure different parts of the yard are always in bloom throughout the year.

    Annual Flowers

Annual flowers are planted every year and typically bloom color for their entire growing season. Where most perennials bloom once or twice, annuals give constant color.

    Ground Covers

    Filling in the spaces.

Plants in your yard don't have to stop at the trees, shrubs, and flowers. So much beauty can be found along the ground and in between the cracks. Ground covers are great in the rock walls, flagstone patios and other nooks and crannies. Choose these if you prefer green or flowering plants to cover all the available ground.

    Vegetables to Eat

    Plants that give us food!

Because of our unique growing season here in Utah, we can pack a lot of fun growing into a few short months. Our rule for planting gardens is - plants grow from 5/10 to 10/5. That's May 10th to Oct 15th.

Soil must be prepared, with plants in the ground, and irrigation ready by this time in order to start your harvest in late summer. It's important to know which vegetables grow best, when to plant them and how to take care of them to get maximum yield. Let us help you plan!
