Pond Cleaning

A Clean Pond is a Happy Pond

Water features are becoming increasingly more popular! Water features are such a fantastic way to add interest and variety to any yard. Here in Utah, care and attention is required to keep ponds clean and pleasant all year round

Pond Maintenance- The Rasmussen Way

Debris

Water features should be clean at least twice a year. In spring, all the leaves and debris that found their way into your feature should be cleaned out. Before the winter, the feature should be drained, cleaned and winterized.

Algae

Algae bloom is extremely common in residential water features. Blue-green Algae thrives on phosphorus and nitrogen, which are both present in lawn fertilizers. When these chemicals are present, algae thrives and can turn your water feature into a green mossy mess.  Removal and treatment of algae, along with regular maintenance, is the simplest way to keep the water in your feature clean and clear.

Mechanical

It is very important to give attention to pumps and filters at least once a year. Often, during spring and fall maintenance, these systems and checked and tested. If any issues are found, we can handle all repairs to keep the waters flowing.

Leaks

Over time, Utah's cold winter and hot summers can cause breaks and leakages in water features. We are fully equipped to diagnose leaks, expose them and make whatever repairs are necessary. Often, leaks require the dismantling of the water feature which involves heavy equipment and a specialized crew. All this is provided by the same crew that builds our water features.
